Scale of Pay: Rs.30,000/- Rs.1,10,000.00 (PB4) with Grade Pay of Rs.12,700/- PM plus other allowances as per rules of Government.
The candidates should not be less than 21 years and not more than 38 years as on 01-01-2021.
The upper age limit is relaxed by:-
• 5 years for SC/ST candidates i.e. up to 43 years
• 3 years for OBC/MOBC candidates i.e. upto 41 years
as per Government Notification No ABP.6/2016/9 dated Dispur the 25th April, 2018.
There is no age limit for departmental candidates, if any.
The candidate must be a permanent resident of Assam. As a domicile proof of the candidate, one of the documents viz. PRC/Voter ID card/Employment Registration needs to be enclosed. N.B.: State Govt. employees of Assam need not submit any documents regarding domicile proof; however they will have to submit No Objection Certificate (NOC) from their respective employer.

While filling up the online application, candidates must mention their choice of Category.
In-service applicants must apply through proper channel. They also have to submit the application online and the scanned copy of forwarding letter has to be uploaded or to be submitted at the time of written test.

• Date of Written Test: The venue, date & time will be uploaded in the website - www.astec.assam.gov.in
• No TA/DA will be provided for appearing in the Written Test and Viva Voce.

• Applicant already in Government service should apply through proper channel.
• The original documents of the candidate will be verified on the date of written test.
• They should bring all the original copies of their testimonials for verification purpose.
• Last date of submission of application is 30th December,2021.
• If a large number of applications are recieved screening will be done as per educational merit only the shortlisted candidates will be called for written test.
• Selection process will be on two phases- (i) Written Test and (ii) Viva Voce. Written Test will be of 100 marks.
• The candidates called for viva voce have to make a PowerPoint presentation of 10 minutes on a scientific topic, which will be followed by interaction by the Selection Committee. A list of topics will be provided to the candidates selected for the viva-voce (along with the communication letter), out of which he/she can choose one topic from the list for presentation
• Separate question papers will be given against different subject code as per following syllabus.
• Duration of the Written Test will be of 2 (two) hours.
Section I (30 marks) :Common to all: Current affairs, comprehension, science in daily life and science communication, test of reasoning.
Basic knowledge on geographical, environmental and natural resources of Assam, Sustainable Development Goals, Science and Society and India’s scientific policies and resolutions; Science, Technology and Innovation set up in India (e,g. CSIR, ISRO, ICAR, GSI, BSI, ZSI, SOI, etc), Intellectual Property Rights.
Section II (70 marks) :Group A, or Group B, or Group C (According to Category A, B or C respectively)
Group A:
Fundamentals of Basic Science based on HS (Science), Natural and Man-made Disasters, Data Science, Fundamental knowledge on digital equipment and IOT; Watershed Management, Climate Change and uncertainty.
Group B:
Basic knowledge on Environment and Ecosystem; Global Warming and Climate Change; Biodiversity and Biodiversity Hotspots; Environmental Pollution; Freshwater eco-system and their management; Environmental Laws and EIA; Environmental Information System; Global Environmental Treaties; Climate change adaptation and mitigation; Environmental impacts of urbanization, mining, industrialization, etc.
Group C:
Principles of Remote Sensing, platforms and sensors, photogrammetry, satellite data/image interpretation, Digital Image Processing, image enhancement techniques, thermal remote sensing, microwave remote sensing, Geographical Information System (GIS), spatial and non-spatial data base, Geo web services, mobile applications.
